Belmont University Men’s Track & Field will participate in the 2025 Missouri Valley Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships this weekend, according to a May 15 announcement. The event will take place at the Gibson Track & Field Complex in Terre Haute, Indiana.

The team has seen many athletes improve their personal bests during the season. At the Outdoor Music City Challenge held on May 1-2, Belmont competitors set seven new personal records and earned several top-10 finishes.

Competition begins Saturday morning with the 10,000-meter race. Throughout Saturday afternoon, select Belmont athletes are scheduled to compete in events including the 400 meters, 400-meter hurdles, and steeplechase. Head Coach Jeff Langdon said he is eager to see how his distance runners perform after focusing on meeting challenges associated with longer races. “Jack is really getting hot at the right time. He’s showed consistency all outdoor season and it’s just a matter of time before he jumps a big bar and winds up on the podium,” Assistant Coach said about one of the vaulters who could qualify for NCAA Regionals if he achieves a personal record this weekend.

Pole vault and javelin throw athletes are also set to compete on Saturday. The finals for some sprint events as well as shot put and high jump competitions are scheduled for Sunday. The meet concludes with the 5,000-meter run and relay races.

At last year’s conference championships, Belmont earned three medals including a silver in javelin throw by a returning student-athlete. Full meet schedules and live results can be found at belmontbruins.com, while coverage will also be available through ESPN+. Organizers note that inclement weather may impact event scheduling over the weekend.
