Belmont University Men’s Track and Field announced on April 30 that the team will compete in the Outdoor Music City Challenge this weekend, hosted by Vanderbilt University in Nashville.

The event is considered an important opportunity for athletes to make final adjustments before the Missouri Valley Conference Outdoor Championships, which are scheduled for May 16-18 in Terre Haute, Indiana.

“Vandy is our last meet of the regular season. Really a chance to fine tune things as we prepare for conference in a couple weeks. The team has been training well and improving from meet to meet this outdoor season so we hope to keep that trend going,” said Coach. “We have a few athletes that have been close to breakthroughs on the track, so I’m interested to see how , Jennifer Mims and Aiyah Siggers do this weekend. has also been on a roll lately and I know he’s looking to lower his school record time in the outdoor 3k this weekend.”

Two weekends ago, members of the Bruin men’s team achieved six new personal records during split-meet competition. Distance runners set record times at the Bryan Clay Invite in California, while others delivered strong performances at the Georgia Tech Invite.

Fans can expect running and field events throughout both Friday and Saturday at Vanderbilt’s facilities. The complete schedule and live results will be available on belmontbruins.com.
