The Belmont University Softball team defeated Saint Louis 3–0 on May 2 to secure a series win at E.S. Rose Park in Nashville. The victory came during the team’s Senior Day, marking the final home game of the season.

The event recognized six seniors for their contributions to the program before the start of play. Belmont improved its record to 37–11 overall and 21–5 in Missouri Valley Conference competition with this result.

Belmont took control of the game in the third inning by stringing together timely hits, including a two-RBI double that gave them a 2–0 lead. The Bruins added another run in the fourth inning after an error allowed a runner to reach base and eventually score on a sacrifice RBI, extending their advantage to three runs.

Defensively, Belmont made several key plays, particularly from left field where multiple catches limited Saint Louis’ scoring opportunities. In the pitching circle, one player earned her first shutout of the season by allowing just two hits and striking out five batters. This performance also marked her 50th career strikeout.

Looking ahead, Belmont will compete in the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament starting May 7 at Charlotte West Stadium in Carbondale, Illinois. The tournament opener is scheduled for noon Central Time and will be streamed live on ESPN+ with additional coverage available through GoBelmontBruins.com.

The Bruins aim to defend their conference title and pursue back-to-back MVC Tournament championships.
