U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) addressed the Senate floor, criticizing Democrats for obstructing President Trump’s agenda. She accused them of delaying votes on nominees and impeding immigration law enforcement.
Senator Blackburn emphasized that Republicans are working to fulfill a mandate from the American people to secure borders, boost the economy, and reduce spending. She highlighted achievements such as tax cuts, increased military spending, and investments in border security.
Blackburn stated, “In November, President Trump and Republicans received a powerful mandate from the American people to secure our border, strengthen our economy, rein in wasteful spending, and Make America Great Again.”
She expressed frustration over 135 pending nominations in the Senate. “The President deserves to have his team in place to enact his America First agenda,” she said.
Blackburn also referenced recent disclosures alleging that former President Obama and Democrats manufactured a Russia collusion hoax against Trump. She criticized activist judges for blocking Trump’s orders until the Supreme Court intervened.
Regarding immigration enforcement, Blackburn accused Democrats of obstructing ICE agents’ efforts. “Americans want our border to be secure,” she asserted.
She condemned actions by some congressional Democrats against ICE facilities and agents. “They’ve smeared ICE agents who are risking their lives to protect our country,” Blackburn remarked.
