Today, House Committee on Homeland Security Chairman Mark E. Green released a statement in response to an incident involving House Democrats at the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Delaney Hall detention facility in New Jersey. Among those involved were House Homeland Security Committee member LaMonica McIver and former Committee member Rob Menendez.

In his statement, Chairman Green criticized the actions of the Democrats, saying, “It seems like House Democrats are so supportive of illegal entry that now they’re trying it themselves.” He compared this event to a previous situation involving Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, noting that she conducted her protest outside a Customs and Border Protection facility in 2019.

Chairman Green expressed concern over what he described as opposition from House Democrats to basic immigration enforcement, including the detention of MS-13 gang members. He urged Americans to remember these actions and described the incident as “an embarrassing day for congressional Democrats.”

The statement highlights ongoing tensions surrounding immigration policy and enforcement between political parties.
