WASHINGTON—Recently, Chairman Mark E. Green of the House Committee on Homeland Security participated in two notable media appearances. He featured on Fox Business’ “Mornings with Maria” and SiriusXM’s “The David Webb Show,” discussing key issues including U.S. border security and a new legislative initiative aimed at enhancing cybersecurity.

In his Fox Business interview, Chairman Green highlighted the drop in Southwest border apprehensions, attributing it to the policies of the Trump administration. He remarked, “We’ve finally secured our southern border, and President Trump did what he promised during the campaign.” He expressed approval of the reduction in border crossings, which he claimed disputed the notion of a “global migration crisis” attributed to the Biden administration.

Discussing the potential national security risks from Chinese nationals crossing the border illegally, Chairman Green commented, “This is a massive national security problem, and you have to imagine because these individuals, a lot of them, the vast majority are military aged men.” He pointed to concerns about their affiliations with the Chinese Communist Party.

During his appearance on “The David Webb Show,” Chairman Green addressed the Biden-Harris administration’s mass-parole schemes. He emphasized the need for accountability, stating, “We still need to bring these people to justice and that’s finding out how they broke our laws.”

Furthermore, Chairman Green criticized “rogue judges” for hindering immigration enforcement. He described attempts to counter this through legislative measures in collaboration with the Judiciary Committee.

Towards the end of his interviews, he outlined the Committee’s objectives, focusing on solidifying Trump-era border policies and supporting the Border Patrol. He also spotlighted the “Cyber PIVOTT Act,” designed to close the cybersecurity workforce gap, noting, “Our biggest issue in cybersecurity is we don’t have the workforce.”
