Denver secured a 17-9 win over Vanderbilt in women’s lacrosse on Sunday at the Vanderbilt Lacrosse Complex. Caroline Keil led all scorers with seven goals for No. 17/22 Denver, which improved to 4-0 this season.
Denver started strong, scoring the first three goals of the game. Vanderbilt responded with goals from Nancy Halleron and Bailey Lower to narrow the deficit. The Commodores scored three consecutive times near the end of the second quarter but trailed 7-5 at halftime.
For Vanderbilt, Shea Panzik, Anna Taraboletti, and Nancy Halleron each scored twice. Panzik also recorded a career-high three assists. Sophomore Kiera Runske posted eight draw controls, setting a personal best, with seven coming in the second half.
Avery Morton, Gabby Putman, and Bailey Lower contributed additional goals for Vanderbilt. Alex Gladding caused three turnovers during the match—her third game this season achieving at least that number.
