FOIA Request to Nossi College of Art and Design Regarding Chinese National Students on May 14, 2025.

As part of our commitment to transparency and accountability in educational institutions, we at the Nashville Standard have submitted a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to Nossi College of Art and Design. Our request seeks detailed information about Chinese National students currently enrolled at the college.

Specifically, we have asked for documents or lists that provide insight into the number of Chinese National students and their respective departments. If privacy concerns prevent the release of individual names, we have requested aggregated data that breaks down the total number by department.

Additionally, we are seeking information regarding scholarships awarded to these students. This includes details about each scholarship’s amount and source. We are particularly interested in identifying any scholarships affiliated with the Chinese Scholarship Council.

Furthermore, our request extends to policies or procedures that Nossi College employs to monitor students—specifically Chinese Nationals—to safeguard the institution’s intellectual property and confidential information.

This request is made in collaboration with The Coalition Opposing Governmental Secrecy, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting transparency through leveraging Freedom of Information laws. As media professionals committed to holding public institutions accountable, we believe access to this information is crucial for public awareness and understanding.

We await a response from Nossi College of Art and Design and will continue to update our readers as more information becomes available.
