Lipscomb University announced on Apr. 29 that Grant Asman of the men’s basketball team has been named to the Division I-AAA Athletics Directors Association (ADA) Scholar-Athlete Team.
The recognition highlights academic and athletic achievement among student-athletes from Division I-AAA ADA member institutions. The award is given annually, with this year marking the 24th season of its presentation.
Nominees for the Scholar-Athlete Team must have a minimum undergraduate grade point average of 3.20, be at least juniors academically, and participate in at least half of their team’s games as either starters or important reserves with significant athletic credentials. These requirements are designed to ensure that honorees excel both in academics and athletics.
Asman, a graduate student from Kimberly, Wisconsin, played his fifth season for Lipscomb in 2026. He was a regular presence in the lineup and earned First Team All-ASUN and Academic All-ASUN honors for the 2025-26 season while helping lead Lipscomb to a 19-13 overall record under head coach Kevin Carroll’s first year.
The Division I-AAA ADA aims to enhance initiatives shared by its member schools—those NCAA Division I institutions that do not sponsor football—especially regarding their basketball programs. The association is administered by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA), which oversees several professional associations related to collegiate athletics.
