Lipscomb Men’s Basketball head coach Kevin Carroll announced on May 13 the program’s signing class for the 2026 season, featuring three new additions: one transfer and two freshmen.
The announcement matters to fans and followers of Lipscomb athletics as it signals a refresh of the team’s roster, bringing in talent from both international and collegiate backgrounds to support the returning core.
Truman Byrne, a sophomore forward from Melbourne, Australia, is transferring from Central Arkansas. Byrne previously played two seasons with the Casey Cavaliers in Australia’s NBL 1 League. In his most recent season, he averaged 4.0 points per game, 3.0 rebounds per game, and shot nearly 35% from three-point range while making almost 90% of his free throws. Carroll said about Byrne: “We’re excited to welcome Truman Byrne to Lipscomb. Having recruited and known Truman for two years—even before he arrived in the US—I know firsthand how well he fits our program. He’s the ideal forward for our system: versatile on both ends, with outstanding shooting, passing and decision-making skills. Just as importantly, Truman exemplifies the values and work ethic that define Lipscomb basketball. We’re confident he’ll be a tremendous addition to our team and culture.”
Hugo Tidare joins as a freshman guard from Uppsala, Sweden after playing for KFUM Uppsala in Sweden’s top professional league last season where he averaged seven points per game while shooting over forty percent from beyond the arc. He has also represented Sweden at both FIBA U20 and U18 Eurobasket Championships in recent years. Carroll said: “Adding a player like Hugo, with his international experience, is a tremendous step for our program. He’s a high-level shooter with impressive length, instincts, and defensive versatility—qualities that make him a perfect fit for our style of play… Beyond his talent on the court, he’s a tremendous teammate and someone the entire Lipscomb community will embrace.”
Vuk Visnijic arrives as another freshman guard hailing from Belgrade, Serbia where he played for Borac Zemun in Serbia’s KLS league; during his time with their second division squad last year he posted averages of nineteen points per game along with notable assists and steals statistics while earning multiple honors including All-Serbian recognition by Eurobasket.com. According to Carroll: “Vuk is widely regarded as one of the top young guards in Serbia… Vuk’s strengths as a playmaker and his ability to create for both himself and his teammates set him apart… Like our other recent signees, he is an exceptional student and a person of high character who will enhance our team’s culture both on and off the court.”
These newcomers are expected to strengthen an experienced group that returns seven players—including four starters or key reserves—from last year’s squad.
