Jack Johnson, a Tennessee State Senator, posted several messages on his Twitter account commemorating Memorial Day and sharing a biblical passage.
On May 24, 2026, Johnson shared a verse from the Book of Isaiah: “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” – Isaiah 40:31.
The following day, on May 25, 2026, he marked Memorial Day with a message honoring fallen service members: “This Memorial Day, we remember the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice is the foundation of our freedom. We honor them today and every day.”
Later that same day, Johnson noted his participation in a local remembrance event: “Honored to attend the Williamson County Memorial Day service today and join our community in recognizing the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.”
Memorial Day is observed annually on the last Monday of May as a federal holiday dedicated to honoring military personnel who have died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. The observance often includes ceremonies at cemeteries and memorials across the country.
