Tennessee State University announced on April 25 that freshman Jackson Pieratt has been selected for the All-Ohio Valley Conference Newcomer Team. The recognition comes after a season in which Pieratt made significant contributions to the Tigers’ men’s golf program.

Pieratt’s debut season included several notable performances, such as finishing second at the Missouri State Intercollegiate. He recorded a total score of six-under par over three rounds, with scores of 68, 72, and 70. This result marked one of the top individual achievements by a Tennessee State player during the season.

Head coach Parrish McGrath said, “I’m incredibly happy for Jackson. He came in with a high level of talent and has only continued to improve. He’s one of the most coachable players I’ve been around in my years in golf.”

In addition to his runner-up finish, Pieratt tied for third place at four-under overall during the TSU Big Blue Invitational and secured sixth place at even par in the Bridgestone HBCU Invitational, where he posted a tournament-best round of seven-under par. His consistent performance across multiple tournaments helped establish him as one of the conference’s leading newcomers.

Throughout his first year, Pieratt also competed in events such as the SIUE Dolenc Invitational, Bubba Barnett Invitational, and The Colonel Shootout. His steady play throughout these competitions contributed positively to Tennessee State’s efforts this season.

The All-OVC Newcomer Team honor concludes what university officials describe as a promising first year for Pieratt and points toward continued development within Tennessee State’s men’s golf program.
