Jeremy Faison, a Tennessee state representative, commented on recent political events through a series of posts on his official X account. His remarks addressed the tone and substance of ongoing debates at the Capitol and offered criticism of both political conduct and legislative history.
On May 6, 2026, Faison posted: “History is a strong reminder that those who most loudly proclaim their own nobility were never very noble at all. Thank you @jsharrell for the reminder.”
The following day, May 7, he wrote: “It’s always been political. It’s just never been this theatrical.” Later that same day, he expanded on his perspective regarding activities at the state legislature: “Most of the theatrics we saw at the Capitol today were exactly that: political theater. But Democrat leaders whipped their followers into a frenzy. The Voting Rights Act was fundamentally flawed because it assigned greater electoral value to individuals based on their race.”
Faison has represented parts of East Tennessee in the state legislature since 2010 and has served as chair of the House Republican Caucus. His comments come amid heightened debate over voting rights legislation in Tennessee and broader national discussions about election laws.
