Jerry Caldwell, President and General Manager of Bristol Motor Speedway, has been announced as an inductee into the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2026, according to a March 10 statement from the organization.

The induction recognizes Caldwell’s significant contributions to motorsports in Tennessee. The Hall of Fame honors individuals who have made a lasting impact on the state’s sports history.

Brad Willis, Executive Director of the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame, said, “Jerry Caldwell has played a pivotal role in shaping one of the most iconic venues in American motorsports. Through vision, innovation, and leadership, he has helped expand the reach of Bristol Motor Speedway while preserving the tradition that makes it one of the most beloved tracks in racing. We are proud to welcome Jerry Caldwell into the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2026.”

Caldwell began his career at Bristol Motor Speedway as an intern and rose through the ranks over nearly three decades. He has overseen race operations and major event planning for both Bristol Motor Speedway and its sister facility, Bristol Dragway. Under his leadership, the venue has hosted annual NASCAR Cup Series races and notable events such as the 2016 college football game between the University of Tennessee and Virginia Tech and the upcoming 2025 MLB Speedway Classic featuring the Atlanta Braves and Cincinnati Reds.

Willis added, “Jerry’s leadership has helped make Bristol Motor Speedway more than just a racetrack. It’s a gathering place for fans and families, a driver of economic activity for the region, and a cornerstone of Tennessee’s sports landscape.”

Caldwell joins other announced members Monica Abbott, Jennifer Azzi, Matt Cain, Mike Clary, Reggie Cobb (posthumously), Antone Davis, Kermit Davis, Bubba Luckett, Charles McRae, Ron Mercer, David Price, and Pete Weber in this year’s class. The full list will be revealed in coming weeks.

The induction ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, July 11 at Omni Nashville Downtown. Tickets and sponsorships are available at TSHF2026.givesmart.com.
