Johnny Garrett, a state legislator representing Tennessee’s 6th district, recently posted several messages on his Twitter account expressing support for local educators and advocating for political redistricting aligned with the “America First” agenda.

On April 29, 2026, Garrett acknowledged the work of educational professionals in his district, stating: “Thankful for our educators and staff across the 6th district who are investing daily in the next generation of leaders!”

Later that same day, he addressed redistricting efforts in Tennessee. In his post from April 29, 2026, Garrett wrote: “Redrawing the lines is essential to supporting @realDonaldTrump’s America First agenda and ensuring woke liberals like @RepCohen can’t undo the great work this administration has done. That’s why I’m for a special session so we can make a 9-0 map a reality!”

The following day, on April 30, 2026, Garrett publicly thanked former President Donald Trump and Governor Bill Lee while calling for increased representation of Tennessee in Washington D.C.: “Thank you @RealDonaldTrump and @GovBillLee! Let’s get this done and send even MORE Tennessee to DC!”

Redistricting has been an ongoing topic within Tennessee politics. Proposals to redraw congressional maps have generated debate regarding their impact on partisan representation and electoral fairness. The suggestion of a “9-0 map” refers to drawing districts in such a way that all nine seats could potentially be held by one party.
