Johnny Garrett, a public official and representative from Tennessee, used his social media platform to share reflections and commemorate Memorial Day in a series of posts.
On May 24, 2026, Garrett posted a biblical quotation: “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” – James 1:5.
The following day, May 25, 2026, he published a message honoring fallen service members for Memorial Day: “This Memorial Day, we remember the fallen heroes who gave everything for our freedom. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.”
Later on May 25, Garrett shared his experience visiting a local memorial site: “This morning, I visited the Wilson County Veterans Plaza and was blown away. The freedoms these men and women died for are the freedoms we’ll have forever.”
Memorial Day is observed annually in the United States on the last Monday of May to honor military personnel who have died in service. Wilson County Veterans Plaza serves as a local site of remembrance for veterans in Tennessee. Johnny Garrett represents District 45 in the Tennessee House of Representatives.
