Johnny Garrett, a Tennessee state legislator, has recently used his social media platform to express strong support for former President Donald Trump’s agenda and to comment on ongoing redistricting efforts in the state.

On May 7, 2026, Garrett alleged interference from political opponents, posting: “ICYMI – The insane radicals from the Democratic Party literally took over my desk trying to stop me from voting because they know I’ve been leading the charge on redistricting from the very beginning. Beyond proud to support @realDonaldTrump’s America First agenda by DELIVERING a”.

The following day, Garrett commented on Tennessee’s congressional map, writing: “A 9-0 Congressional map in Tennessee clears a path for @realDonaldTrump to pass his America First Agenda and stop the Democrats from destroying Tennessee’s values of faith, family, and freedom. That’s why I’m all for it.”

Later that same day, he reaffirmed his commitment to Trump’s policies: “I’ll never stop being a warrior for @realDonaldTrump’s agenda- you can count on it.”

Redistricting in Tennessee has been a contentious issue in recent years. Republican lawmakers have pursued maps that could solidify their party’s dominance in congressional representation. This approach has drawn criticism from Democratic legislators and advocacy groups who argue that such measures undermine fair representation.

Garrett’s public statements reflect broader debates within Tennessee politics regarding partisan control and legislative priorities. His repeated endorsements of Trump’s “America First” agenda underscore ongoing alignment between state-level Republican leaders and national party figures.
