Ken Yager, a Tennessee State Senator, shared several updates on his Twitter account in late May 2026, highlighting community events and the importance of agriculture in the state.
On May 25, Yager commemorated Memorial Day at Bethel Cemetery in Kingston. He stated, “This morning I had the privilege to speak at a Memorial Day Observance at Historic Bethel Cemetery Kingston where a veteran from every war from Revolution to Vietnam is buried. Their sacrifice is woven into the story of our State and Nation. God bless America.”
Two days later, on May 27, Yager commented on a local business visit in Jellico. He wrote, “Ate absolutely the best pizza ever at Pizza Spot in Jellico. Here are the folks that make that happen. Hats off to you. Great team with a super attitude.”
Later that same day, Yager acknowledged an agricultural education initiative. He posted, “Thank you Farm Bureau for a program that integrates ag in the school curriculum. Lest we forget Agriculture is the number one industry in this state. It’s important to equip our teachers with the info to maintain interest and support of this vital industry in the next generation.”
Yager’s emphasis on agriculture aligns with longstanding data showing that agriculture remains Tennessee’s leading industry by economic output and employment.
