The Lipscomb University Baseball team lost 10-4 to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in an elimination game at the NCAA Division I Baseball Starkville Regional on May 30. The game took place at Dudy Noble Field in Starkville, Mississippi.

Louisiana took an early lead in the first inning with a two-run home run by Mark Collins, scoring Rodriguez after his single. In the second inning, Collins added a two-RBI single to make it 4-0. Lipscomb responded in the third when Jordan Thomas hit a two-run homer to center field, bringing home Hutson Miles, who had walked earlier.

Louisiana extended its lead with a solo home run by Colt Brown and continued adding runs throughout the middle innings. Blaze Rodriguez singled up the middle in the fourth to score Josh Lim, and additional runs came in during the fifth via Lim’s RBI single and Drew Markle scoring on a wild pitch. Damion Kenealy Jr. hit a solo home run for Lipscomb in the sixth inning, and Thomas added another RBI single in the seventh.

The Ragin’ Cajuns scored twice more in the eighth inning through Rodriguez’s bunt single combined with a throwing error that allowed Noah Lewis to score, followed by Rodriguez crossing home plate on Lee Amdee’s sacrifice fly.

Brady Miller returned to Lipscomb’s lineup for his first appearance in nearly two weeks and extended his on-base streak to 21 games with a walk. Jordan Thomas finished 2-for-3 with three runs batted in, while Adam Jamison pitched 2.2 scoreless innings with four strikeouts.
