Lipscomb Softball earned a 5–2 victory against Austin Peay in the series finale on April 26.

The result gives Lipscomb a strong finish to their home series. The team established an early lead and maintained it throughout the game.

Presley Rader opened scoring for the Bisons with a two-run home run in the first inning, bringing in Brenna Sherman. After Austin Peay responded with a solo home run in the fourth, MK Hickey extended Lipscomb’s lead with a sacrifice fly that allowed Rader to score. In the fifth inning, Kyla Jobe contributed further by hitting a single that brought both Rader and Sherman across home plate, increasing Lipscomb’s advantage to four runs. Austin Peay managed another run in the sixth inning but could not close the gap.

Pitcher Jesyne Espinal played an important role for Lipscomb, pitching six and one-third innings while giving up five hits and two runs—one of which was earned. She walked two batters and struck out one over her 85 pitches.

The game concluded with Lipscomb holding off late efforts from Austin Peay to secure their win.
