Lipscomb University reported on Apr. 25 that its women’s softball team lost both games of a doubleheader against Austin Peay, with scores of 3–0 and 4–1. The matches took place as part of the team’s Senior Day, during which the Bisons honored their senior players for their contributions to the program.

The significance of Senior Day was highlighted before the first game, as seniors were recognized for their impact both on and off the field. Despite these celebrations, Lipscomb was unable to secure a win in either contest.

In Game 1, Austin Peay scored early by putting up runs in the second and third innings and added another run in the fifth inning. Lipscomb struggled offensively throughout this game and did not score any runs, resulting in a shutout victory for Austin Peay.

Game 2 saw Austin Peay take an initial lead with two runs by the fourth inning. Presley Rader provided a highlight for Lipscomb by hitting a solo home run in the bottom half of that inning, narrowing the gap to 2–1. However, Austin Peay responded with two more runs in the sixth inning and maintained control through to complete a sweep of both games.

Looking ahead, Lipscomb will seek to regroup after these losses as they continue their season.
