Lipscomb track and field achieves event wins at Vanderbilt’s Music City Challenge

Lipscomb Track & Field recorded several event wins and personal bests at Vanderbilt’s Music City Challenge on May 1–2. The team competed across distance, sprints, hurdles, and field events during the weekend.

The competition featured strong performances from both men’s and women’s teams. Max Hooper won the men’s 800 meters with a time of 1:51.03, while Bing Hudson secured first place in the men’s 3000-meter steeplechase with a personal-best of 8:49.85. On the women’s side, Matilda Cole took first in the 3000 meters with a personal-best of 9:41.71, leading seven Lipscomb runners who finished in the top ten for that event.

Addi Greene added another victory for Lipscomb by winning the women’s 3000-meter steeplechase in a personal-best time of 10:34.99; Leonie Saurer placed third in that race. In sprint events, Joel Nimoh placed second in the men’s 100-meter final with a personal-best of 10.51 seconds and also ran a time of 21.67 seconds in the men’s 200 meters.

KeShawn Allen continued his freshman season by finishing third in the men’s 110-meter hurdles final with a time of 14.06 seconds. Hannah Wright posted two personal bests on the women’s side, finishing sixth in the invitational final for women’s 100-meter hurdles (13.86) and seventh in the women’s 400-meter hurdles (1:01.68).

Other notable results included Liza Corso taking second place (4:23.13) and Linda Perez fourth (4:23.28) in the women’s1500 meters; Ellie Brewer placing fourth (16:04.89) and Mia Bergman sixth (16:17.54) with personal bests in the women’s5000 meters; Will Jefferson leading four teammates to top-five finishes—and all setting new best times—in themen’s3000 meters.

The Bisons will continue their postseason preparations as they get ready for their next meet at the ASUN Outdoor Championships.
