Lipscomb track and field secures titles and podium finishes at ASUN Outdoor Championships

Lipscomb Track & Field delivered a strong performance at the ASUN Outdoor Championships held in Jacksonville, Florida from May 14 to May 16. The Bisons achieved several conference titles, set meet records, and recorded multiple podium finishes across various events.

The team excelled in distance events, with Ellie Brewer breaking the ASUN meet record in the women’s 10,000 meters by finishing first in 34:44.10. Brewer led a sweep of the top three spots for Lipscomb alongside Aly Negovetich and Abigail Horevay. In the men’s division, Chase Atkins won the 10,000 meters with a time of 30:11.14.

Joel Nimoh continued his notable freshman season by placing second in the men’s 200 meters with a time of 21.26 seconds after qualifying at 21.28 seconds in preliminaries. He also secured sixth place in the men’s 100-meter final.

Justin Davis earned two podium placements for Lipscomb in field events by taking second place in the men’s long jump with a mark of 7.53 meters and finishing fifth in triple jump.

Other highlights included Liza Corso’s runner-up finish in the women’s 1500 meters and Max Hooper’s third-place result in the men’s 800 meters. Relay teams closed out competition with both women’s and men’s squads securing fifth-place finishes in their respective categories.

Throughout all disciplines—distance races, hurdles, relays, and field events—the Bisons consistently placed athletes among top competitors during this championship weekend.
