Lipscomb women’s golf ends regular season at the MoMorial tournament

The Lipscomb University Women’s Golf team finished its regular season on April 8 at the 22nd Annual “Mo”Morial tournament, held at the Traditions Club in Bryan, Texas. The Bisons completed the three-day, 54-hole event with a total score of 941.

This tournament marked the conclusion of regular season play for Lipscomb as they prepare for postseason competition. The team’s performance was highlighted by Casey Yu’s strong showing, finishing tied for 12th place after shooting an even-par round of 72 on Wednesday. Her final round score was tied for third-lowest among all competitors that day.

Yu moved up 17 spots in the standings during her last round and recorded three birdies, including consecutive ones on holes 17 and 18. Christina Surcey also improved over the course of the event, finishing with a total score of +17 (233). Surcey rebounded from an opening-round score of 81 to post a second-round score of 77 and closed with a steady final round featuring one birdie and thirteen pars.

Ava Bankston contributed to the team effort with a total score of 240 across all rounds, highlighted by her second-round performance. Katya Tibbetts added four birdies throughout the tournament and finished with a cumulative score of 243.

Looking ahead, Lipscomb will compete in the Atlantic Sun Conference Championships scheduled from April 17-19 at Dothan Country Club in Dothan, Alabama.
