Lipscomb Women’s Golf is tied for fifth place after the second round of the ASUN Championship at Dothan Country Club, according to an April 18 update. The team has a combined score of 590 (+14) following a round of 298 (+10) on Saturday and a 292 (+4) on Friday.
The tournament matters as teams compete for conference honors and individual rankings, with North Florida currently leading by a significant margin at 548 (-28). Lipscomb is nine strokes away from reaching the podium positions.
Casey Yu leads Lipscomb’s effort, tying for tenth place overall. She posted even-par rounds of 72 both days, highlighted by strong play on her first nine holes Saturday where she was two under par before finishing even. Ava Bankston is tied for fourteenth after matching scores of 73 (+1) in both rounds, recovering from early bogeys with steady play and a birdie to close her second round.
Christina Surcey started well with a first-round score of 71 (-1), but dropped to seventeenth place after shooting a second-round 76 (+4). Savannah Howell contributed with scores that placed her tied for thirty-seventh at nine over par through two rounds. Katya Tibbetts sits in fifty-second position following an eighty-four (+12) on Saturday.
After two rounds, Lipscomb ranks second among all teams in total pars made, recording one hundred nineteen. The championship will conclude Sunday, April 19, with tee times beginning at eight o’clock in the morning Central Time.
