Michele Reneau, a public figure active in Tennessee policy discussions, recently used her social media platform to highlight legislative efforts aimed at safeguarding individual rights and public health. In a series of posts on February 5 and 6, 2026, Reneau emphasized the importance of constitutional protections for self-sufficiency and detailed several proposed bills focused on health-related issues.

On February 5, Reneau stated, “The right to feed yourself shouldn’t require government permission. This amendment puts that protection in our Constitution where it belongs.” She followed up with another post the same day: “From family gardens to working farms, Tennesseans have always provided for themselves. This amendment protects that for generations to come.”

Addressing broader health concerns on February 6, Reneau wrote, “From banning fluoride in drinking water to removing artificial dyes from school lunches, limiting early tech exposure, protecting families from pesticide drift, and holding data centers accountable for water use, these bills put health freedom first.”

Reneau’s statements come amid ongoing debates in Tennessee over food sovereignty and public health regulation. The proposed constitutional amendment she references seeks to enshrine the right of individuals to grow and procure their own food without government interference—a movement seen in various states across the country. Recent years have also seen increased scrutiny over substances like fluoride in drinking water and artificial additives in school meals. Legislative proposals addressing these topics reflect a growing trend toward prioritizing local control over agricultural practices and heightened attention to environmental factors affecting community well-being.
