The Tennessee State women’s tennis team hosted Missouri for a nonconference match in Nashville on Friday. Missouri, a member of the Southeastern Conference, won the contest 5–0.

Tennessee State played matches on all three doubles courts to begin the event. The Tigers’ No. 1 and No. 3 pairings started off, while another team completed doubles play at the No. 2 spot as they worked to establish momentum against Missouri’s lineup.

In singles competition, Murdasanu competed at No. 6, Walsh played at No. 5, Cooksey took the court at No. 3, and Tungamarial participated at No. 2 for Tennessee State.

According to the program, “Tennessee State used the home contest as an opportunity to measure progress against one of the nation’s top programs, continuing to build toward conference play and the remainder of the spring season.”

The Tigers will use their experience from this match as they prepare for upcoming games.

Tennessee State is scheduled to travel for its next match on Monday, March 2, when it faces Western Kentucky in Bowling Green, Kentucky at 1 p.m.
