Monty Fritts, a member of the Tennessee General Assembly, shared several statements on his social media account on May 12, 2026. His posts highlighted recent legislative actions and policy priorities he has pursued during his tenure.
In one post from the afternoon of May 12, Fritts wrote, “It was an honor to successfully carry legislation to protect our 2A by supporting our firearms manufacturers and retailers in TN. This was one of the issues I first ran on and passed two bills during my 4 years in the General Assembly.” He referenced work on firearm-related legislation over his four-year period in office.
Shortly afterward, Fritts addressed tax policy concerns, stating on May 12, “Our seniors, and all Tennesseans should expect property tax reform. Taxation against unrealized capital gains and eviction for property tax delinquency are wrong.”
Later that day, he thanked a local political group: “Thank you Shelby County Republican ladies for an opportunity to discuss Liberty & Less Govt”
Fritts’ advocacy for protecting firearm manufacturers and retailers aligns with ongoing debates about Second Amendment rights in Tennessee. Property tax reform has also been a recurring topic in state politics, particularly regarding senior citizens’ financial stability and policies surrounding taxation on unrealized gains and evictions due to delinquency.
