Monty Fritts, a political figure in Tennessee, used his social media platform to communicate his policy priorities and campaign intentions in a series of posts on May 18 and 19, 2026.
On May 18, Fritts highlighted community engagement at an event in Lenoir City. He wrote, “Packed house in Lenior City to hear about Liberty & Less Government. From the Mississippi River to the Smoky Mountains, people across the state are getting on board.”
The following day, he discussed cultural and political concerns during a conversation with another commentator. On May 19, Fritts stated, “Had a chance to speak with @RexJonesNewz Why aren’t we raising real men anymore in America? Most politicians SICKEN me… I’m running for governor in Tennessee for several reasons, one of which is the need for men of courage to stand up and protect our Tennessee and”.
Later that same day, Fritts addressed tax policy and government spending in Tennessee. He posted: “We have to do something about Taxes in Tennessee. Eliminating the State Grocery Sales Taxes would be a good start. I’m committed to ending it. Your tax dollars should NOT be used to build the ball teams a new stadium. I will end corporate welfare in TN.”
These statements come as Tennessee continues its ongoing debate over state taxes and public funding for private ventures such as sports stadiums—a subject that has drawn attention from both lawmakers and citizens concerned about fiscal responsibility.
