Since President Trump’s inauguration, Republicans have focused on border security, law enforcement, government spending, and economic growth. This month, the administration passed what it calls the One Big Beautiful Bill, which includes a large tax cut, new investments in border security, and cuts to several federal programs.

Republican leaders say these actions are being met with opposition from Democrats. They claim that Democrats have supported court challenges to Trump administration policies until recent Supreme Court decisions limited nationwide injunctions. Republicans also state that Democratic lawmakers have criticized immigration enforcement agencies and delayed votes on more than 140 of the president’s nominees for key positions.

The press release asserts that this pattern of opposition is not new. It refers to recently declassified documents from Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, which allege that efforts to undermine President Trump began before he took office. The documents suggest that Democrats and media allies promoted false claims about Russian interference in the 2016 election as part of a broader campaign against Trump.

According to the release, “As DNI Gabbard puts it, ‘Their goal was to subvert the will of the American people and enact what was essentially a years-long coup with the objective of trying to usurp the President from fulfilling the mandate bestowed upon him by the American people.’”

It further alleges involvement by senior officials in the previous administration: “According to the newly declassified documents, then-President Obama worked with his senior officials in the final weeks of his administration to disseminate these false claims into intelligence reports, which were then leaked to the media. Until his intervention, U.S. intelligence agencies had concluded that the Russia Hoax was false.”

The statement continues: “Make no mistake: The Swamp has to be drained. The career bureaucrats at the CIA, FBI, and Department of Justice who aided this deception must be shown the door. And where appropriate, there must be prosecutions.”

DNI Gabbard has reportedly provided these documents along with a criminal referral to the Justice Department. According to Republican sources, a “strike force” has been formed within DOJ to investigate further evidence related to these claims.

“As DNI Gabbard puts it,” states one section of the release, “‘Their goal was to subvert the will of the American people and enact what was essentially a years-long coup with the objective of trying to usurp the President from fulfilling the mandate bestowed upon him by the American people.’”

Republicans say they will continue efforts toward accountability for those involved and seek measures so similar events do not happen again.
