Belmont University men’s tennis players Sabi Roi and Stefan Vedovelli have been named the Horizon League Doubles Team of the Week after winning both of their matches at No. 1 doubles in recent competition. The pair secured the doubles point for Belmont in two road matches, including a contest against nationally-ranked Tennessee.

The Horizon League announced the award on Wednesday. This marks the second time Roi and Vedovelli have received this honor, with their previous recognition coming on February 26 of last year.

On Sunday in Knoxville, senior Roi and junior Vedovelli earned a 6-4 win over Tennessee’s Alejandro Moreno and Dragos Cazacu to secure the doubles point. The duo continued their strong performance on Tuesday morning in Charleston, South Carolina, where they defeated The Citadel’s Ted Bagwell and Brady Gober 6-4. Their victory contributed to Belmont’s 7-0 sweep of The Citadel and marked the team’s first road win of the season.

Roi and Vedovelli now hold a 6-4 record at No. 1 doubles this year. Their overall record for the 2025-26 season stands at 13-8, including a 7-4 mark in tournament play during the fall.

Belmont will return to action Thursday afternoon against Wofford at Reeves Tennis Center, with first serve scheduled for 1 p.m. CT/2 p.m. ET.
