Senator Marsha Blackburn, who represents Tennessee in the U.S. Senate, posted a series of statements on July 24, 2025, addressing recent federal policy developments and political issues involving President Trump’s administration.

In her first post on July 24, Blackburn wrote, “Americans elected President Trump to shut down woke DEI programs, and every employee at our universities should be complying with his executive actions. Activist employees who are pushing this divisive and discriminatory agenda must be held to account.” This statement refers to ongoing debates about Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives in higher education institutions. The senator called for university staff to adhere to executive orders issued by President Trump targeting such programs.

Later that day, Blackburn highlighted an announcement concerning technological investment in her home state. She stated on July 24: “President Trump is bringing the AI race to Tennessee at our very own Oak Ridge Reservation. I’m thrilled to learn @ENERGY chose Tennessee for new large-scale data centers, and I look forward to seeing all the advancements made in the Volunteer State.” The Oak Ridge Reservation has historically played a significant role in scientific research and development projects led by the Department of Energy.

In a subsequent post on July 24, Blackburn addressed delays affecting presidential nominations: “More than 100 of President Trump’s nominees are still awaiting confirmation. There is zero reason we should have this backlog, and Democrats need to stop obstructing the voting process to spite @realDonaldTrump.” The senator criticized what she described as partisan obstruction within the Senate confirmation process for executive branch appointments.

The Oak Ridge Reservation mentioned by Senator Blackburn is managed by the U.S. Department of Energy and is known for its involvement in national security research as well as advanced computing initiatives.
