Sen. Marsha Blackburn, the first woman to represent Tennessee in the U.S. Senate, addressed issues ranging from government fraud to technology innovation and online child safety in a series of posts on January 16 and 17, 2026.

On January 16, Blackburn highlighted concerns about taxpayer money and legislative action: “I’ve spoken with many people in East Tennessee today who are alarmed by the amount of fraud their tax dollars are funding. This is why I introduced the Fraud Accountability Act. We should be able to account for every tax dollar, and every fraudster should be held accountable.”

Later that day, she discussed technological advancement in her state: “Had a wonderful discussion with @UTChattanooga Chancellor Dr. Bruce this morning about how Tennessee can lead the nation in quantum and AI innovation!”

On January 17, Blackburn addressed online child protection and congressional efforts: “Parents are demanding Congress take action to protect kids online because they’ve seen how social media platforms are designed to prey on kids. Big Tech companies can hire all the lobbyists they want to kill bills like KOSA, but they won’t win this fight. Americans want action.”

Blackburn’s advocacy reflects her broader record as a senator focused on limited government, lower taxes, border security, health care affordability, veterans’ support, and protections for children online (official website). She has authored legislation such as the Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA) and served on key committees including Finance; Commerce, Science and Transportation; Veterans’ Affairs; and Judiciary (official website). Elected as Tennessee’s first female senator in 2018 (official website), Blackburn maintains offices across Washington D.C. and multiple cities throughout Tennessee (official website).
