Senator Marsha Blackburn, who represents Tennessee in the U.S. Senate, posted a series of statements on her social media account on August 18, 2025, addressing issues ranging from immigration enforcement to women’s suffrage and national leadership.

In one post at 20:04 UTC, Blackburn criticized media coverage regarding an incident involving a delivery driver. She wrote, “This was an illegal alien who failed to appear for his court dates – not just a ‘moped driver.’ Of course, the media refuses to acknowledge the facts. This is why I’ve pushed Uber Eats, DoorDash & Grubhub to crack down on illegals who bypass safety checks & endanger consumers.” Blackburn has previously advocated for stricter background checks and verification processes among gig economy platforms such as Uber Eats and DoorDash.

Later that evening at 21:28 UTC, Blackburn commented on former President Donald Trump’s leadership qualities. She stated, “President Trump is exhibiting the type of leadership we were missing in the White House for four years.” The senator has been a consistent supporter of Trump throughout his political career.

At 22:16 UTC on the same day, Blackburn marked the anniversary of a major milestone in American history. She posted, “Today, we are celebrating the 105th anniversary of the 19th Amendment, a historic victory for women’s suffrage. We honor the trailblazers who fought for equality and continue to empower women to lead, vote, and shape our nation’s future.” The ratification of the 19th Amendment in August 1920 granted women in the United States the right to vote after decades of activism by suffragists.

The senator’s comments come amid ongoing national debates about immigration policy enforcement and discussions about voting rights milestones in U.S. history.
