Senator Marsha Blackburn, a Republican representing Tennessee, posted a series of statements on August 19, 2025, addressing issues ranging from former President Donald Trump’s record to online child safety legislation.
In her first post of the day, Blackburn wrote: “The media, Democrats, and Trump-deranged critics continue to doubt President Trump, but his record speaks for itself. He has demonstrated tremendous strength in brokering historic peace deals time and time again.” (August 19, 2025).
Later that afternoon, she highlighted the case of Walker Montgomery in relation to online safety for children: “Walker Montgomery was 16 years old when he was sextorted on Instagram. His life was tragically cut short because of Big Tech’s refusal to put his safety over profit.
Walker’s dad is one of many parents urging Congress to pass KOSA. We will not give up.

In her final post that evening, Blackburn stated: “God Bless President Trump for working to usher in peace across the globe.” (August 19, 2025).
Senator Blackburn has been an advocate for both strengthening protections for children online and supporting former President Donald Trump’s foreign policy efforts. The push for KOSA comes amid growing concern about the mental health risks posed by social media platforms and increasing reports of child exploitation online.
