Sen. Marsha Blackburn, who represents Tennessee in the U.S. Senate, shared updates on law enforcement efforts, economic development, and legislative initiatives through a series of posts on her social media account in early February 2026.
On February 5, 2026, Blackburn highlighted the results of a joint law enforcement initiative in Memphis by stating, “Since the start of the Memphis Safe Task Force, there have been more than 6,500 arrests, 1,500 illegal firearms recovered, and 148 missing children located. That’s what happens when local officials cooperate with federal agencies.”
Later that day, she commented on an economic investment from Korea Zinc: “It was great meeting with Korea Zinc to discuss their nearly $7 billion investment in our state. This project supports high-paying jobs in Tennessee and helps make certain we are not depending on China for critical minerals.” The mention reflects ongoing efforts to bolster local employment while reducing reliance on foreign sources for essential materials.
In another post dated February 6, 2026, Blackburn addressed fraud prevention policy at the federal level: “Grateful that the Vice President will be leading the administration’s efforts to tackle fraud. ALL fraud should be a deportable offense, and I introduced the Fraud Accountability Act to ensure people who come to America to steal from our citizens are held accountable.”
Blackburn has been active on issues such as veterans’ care and online child protections and has supported causes related to social welfare according to her official website. She is known for advocating limited government intervention, lower taxes, border security measures, affordable health care access for residents of Tennessee—including veterans—and increased protections for children online. As Tennessee’s first female U.S. Senator serving since her election to represent the entire state statewide—a role based out of offices in Washington D.C., Memphis, Jackson, Nashville, Chattanooga, Knoxville and Johnson City—she has also chaired subcommittees focused on consumer protection and privacy issues within several Senate committees including Finance; Commerce; Science and Transportation; Veterans’ Affairs; and Judiciary.
Her legislative record includes authoring bills targeting child online safety as well as improved health care access for veterans.
