Senator Brent Taylor, who represents Tennessee in the state Senate, recently made several posts on his Twitter account addressing political criticism and public safety efforts in Memphis.

On May 9, 2026, Taylor responded to accusations of racism by referencing what he called “Taylor Derangement Syndrome.” In his post, he stated: ” BREAKING: Tennessee’s Taylor Derangement Syndrome is in full meltdown mode! This is our state’s very own version of Trump Derangement Syndrome (“TDS”), and Cory Strong is Patient Zero. He just tried to smear me with “racism” but couldn’t name a single example, because there”.

The following day, May 10, 2026, Taylor marked Mother’s Day with a message directed at his wife and constituents. He wrote: “Happy Mother’s Day to my wife Kimberly! Gage and Molly are now amazing young adults because of your dedication to raising them. I know Middle Tennessee will fall in love with you just like West Tennessee has while I’ve represented our community in the state Senate.”

Later on May 10, Taylor referenced comments from Congressman Tim Burchett regarding crime reduction efforts in Memphis. His tweet quoted Burchett as saying: “Congressman @timburchett: ‘Memphis was a war zone . . . After Brent Taylor and Senator Marsha Blackburn asked the President to bring the National Guard in, you can now walk downtown.’ I raised 10 kinds of hell to bring attention to Memphis’ crime challenge and take on the”.

Senator Brent Taylor has been an active figure in Tennessee politics and has participated in discussions about crime prevention measures for Memphis. His collaboration with other lawmakers—including U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn—has focused on bringing federal resources such as the National Guard into local efforts aimed at improving public safety.
