United States Senator Bill Hagerty appeared on Newsmax’s “Wake Up America” to discuss the Middle East conflict and the budget reconciliation package. As a member of several Senate committees and former U.S. Ambassador to Japan, Hagerty shared his insights on these pressing issues.

Discussing Iran, Hagerty compared the policies of Presidents Biden and Trump. He stated, “What the Democrats did when they were in power is, actually, embolden Iran to do exactly what they’re doing.” He criticized Biden for reinstating Obama-era policies that he believes enabled Iran’s aggressive actions in the region. According to Hagerty, “The time has come for this to stop,” emphasizing Israel’s role in countering Iranian activities.

Hagerty highlighted Iran’s deteriorating position, stating that their resources are depleting with each missile launch. He said, “The story is getting worse and worse and worse for the Iranian regime.” He urged a swift resolution, asserting that President Trump wants a quick end to the ongoing conflict: “He’s told me so himself.”

Turning to domestic issues, Hagerty addressed budget reconciliation negotiations. He warned of significant tax increases if a deal isn’t reached: “The American public’s going to feel a tax increase like we’ve never felt before.” The senator stressed the importance of timely action: “I’m all for getting this done by the 4th of July.”

Hagerty mentioned efforts in Congress to make the bill more conservative while ensuring it passes both chambers: “It’ll probably be close on both sides because we’re going to make it as conservative as we possibly can.”
