Senator Marsha Blackburn, representing Tennessee, recently used her social media platform to address a range of policy issues, including public safety in Memphis, immigration enforcement, and concerns over technology standards related to foreign influence.
On August 23, 2025, Blackburn commented on federal efforts to improve safety in Memphis. She stated, “President Trump has already done tremendous work to Make Memphis Safe Again with the help of @FBIDirectorKash & @AGPamBondi. Shelby County needs all the help it can get, and it is wonderful news that the President is sending additional resources to protect Tennesseans.”
The following day, she addressed immigration and crime. On August 24, 2025, Blackburn wrote, “Kilmar Abrego Garcia is a criminal illegal, and he should be deported. No one wants gang-affiliated individuals in their communities.”
Later on August 24, Blackburn shifted focus to technology policy and foreign influence. She posted: “Congress has failed to pass tech standards that counter the Chinese Communist Party’s influence, leaving states to stand in the gap. Tennessee has stepped up to the plate to protect its citizens—but it’s time for nationwide safeguards.”
Senator Blackburn’s statements come amid ongoing debates about public safety initiatives in Memphis and broader discussions regarding federal versus state roles in addressing technology regulation and foreign interference. Her remarks also reflect continuing national conversations about immigration enforcement policies.
