Senator Marsha Blackburn has recently expressed her views on several pressing issues via a series of tweets. The topics range from the increase in assaults on ICE agents to healthcare for illegal immigrants, as well as comments directed at Representative Pramila Jayapal.
On July 9, 2025, Blackburn tweeted about the significant rise in assaults on ICE agents, stating that they have increased by nearly 700% compared to the previous year. She emphasized the importance of prosecuting those involved to convey a strong message that violence against law enforcement will not be tolerated. “Assaults on ICE agents are now up nearly 700% from the same time last year. These individuals have no respect for the rule of the law, and they must be prosecuted to send a clear message: Violence against law enforcement will not be tolerated.”
Later that day, Blackburn voiced her opinion regarding healthcare for illegal immigrants, arguing against it being funded by American taxpayers. “Illegal immigrants should never receive free health care on the American taxpayers’ dime.”
In another tweet on July 9, Blackburn criticized Representative Pramila Jayapal for her remarks about being inspired by people obstructing ICE operations. Blackburn accused Jayapal of ignoring her constitutional oath and inciting violence. “.@RepJayapal has said she is “most inspired” when she sees people obstructing ICE. She is ignoring her oath to defend the constitution, and she is stoking violence.”
The increase in assaults on Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents has become a point of concern among lawmakers who are advocating for stricter measures to protect law enforcement officers.
