Lipscomb women's tennis' Sasha Dobranos earned her second ASUN Player of the Week selection as announced Wednesday afternoon by the league office.

"We're so proud of who we call 'Big Sash'," said head coach Jamie Aid. "She's such a hard worker every single week. She competes every single match and at the end of the day that's all you can of any athlete."

Dobranos has led the Bisons with aplomb all season with an incredible weekend for the junior. In Lipscomb's two matches this weekend, Dobranos tallied three wins across singles and doubles play.

In the Bisons' match against Tennessee State, she teamed up with Anja Trbeznik on court one to bring the squad a 6-4 win to claim the doubles point in Lipscomb's favor. She then went on to open singles scoring in the Bisons' favor with a fast-paced 6-4, 6-1 win over her opponent at the top spot.

The Purple and Gold took on their second ASUN foe this season on Saturday as they took on the #73 Liberty Flames. Dobranos again partnered with Trbeznik on court one where the duo dropped their match 6-3 to their opponents.

This loss failed to impact Dobranos' spirit, however, and she went on to defeat reigning ASUN Freshman of the Year Liberty's Maria Juliana Parra Romero in two sets at the top spot to spark a four-win comeback in singles for the Bisons to claim their second straight ASUN victory of the season.

"We're so proud of Sasha," coach Aid continued. "She has really taken off over the past year and a half. She's really changed some things in her game and has bought in to being this forward player that works so well with her athletic ability. We're just so happy for her to see the results she's been working for so we're just thrilled for her to get this recognition."
