Today, House Committee on Homeland Security Chairman Mark E. Green expressed concerns following the release of new data from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The figures indicate a significant increase in the number of individuals on ICE's Non-Detained Docket who have been ordered removed by immigration judges but remain in the country.
Chairman Green stated, "For four years, the Biden-Harris administration has hamstrung ICE’s ability to detain and remove those here illegally—even those who have been ordered to be removed by immigration judges. These devastating numbers are yet more incontrovertible proof of this reality, and should serve as a wake-up call for policymakers."
The data obtained by Fox News reporters Adam Shaw and Bill Melugin shows that the number of illegal aliens with final removal orders increased from 1.29 million in October 2023 to 1.44 million by November 2024, marking an increase of over 152,000 individuals within approximately one year.
The report also provided details about the nationalities of those with final removal orders on ICE's docket. Among these were significant numbers from several countries: Guatemala (253,413), Honduras (261,651), El Salvador (203,822), Mexico (252,044), and others.
In response to these findings, Tom Homan, designated as the incoming White House "border czar," emphasized that future removal priorities will target public safety threats, national security threats, fugitives, and those who have exhausted legal appeals but remain in the country despite court orders for their removal.
