United States Senator Bill Hagerty has announced his committee assignments for the 119th Congress. He will continue to serve on the Senate Committees on Foreign Relations; Appropriations; Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs; and Rules. These appointments reflect Hagerty's continued influence and leadership within these committees, which play a crucial role in shaping American national security, economic policy, and legislative procedures.

Hagerty highlighted his accomplishments during the previous Congress, stating: “Throughout the 118th Congress, my positioning on these four critical committees allowed me to apply my background and experience as a former Ambassador, lifelong businessman, job creator, and negotiator to represent the interests of Tennesseans and push back against the failures of the Biden Administration and Democrats.”

As a member of the Foreign Relations Committee, Hagerty has been involved in shaping laws related to U.S. diplomacy and international relations. His experience as a former U.S. Ambassador has informed his work in overseeing American policies concerning global alliances and addressing threats from nations such as China and Russia.

On the Appropriations Committee, Hagerty emphasized promoting responsible government funding. He noted his efforts in securing disaster relief for Tennessee following Hurricane Helene.

Hagerty's role on the Banking Committee involves advocating for policies that foster job creation and wage growth by encouraging investment in America. He expressed opposition to certain housing proposals he views as anti-capitalist.

Finally, within the Rules Committee, Hagerty has opposed legislation that he believes would compromise safety in Washington D.C., while also fighting against attempts to federalize election laws.

Senator Hagerty brings extensive experience from his past roles as U.S. Ambassador to Japan and Commissioner of Economic Development in Tennessee. As he enters this new congressional session with significant committee responsibilities, he stated: “As the 119th Congress begins, I look forward to continuing my work on these committees and working hand-in-hand with the incoming Trump Administration to make the American Dream possible again for Tennesseans.”
