United States Senator Bill Hagerty recently appeared on Fox Business's Kudlow to discuss the ongoing fires in Southern California and the Senate Republicans' recent meeting with President Donald Trump.

During his appearance, Hagerty addressed the situation in California, attributing some of the challenges faced by the state to decisions made by Governor Gavin Newsom. "Larry, when you were in the Trump Administration back in 2020, President Trump signed an emergency order that would’ve allowed California to address this," Hagerty stated. He criticized Newsom for not following through with measures that could have helped mitigate the impact of these fires.

Hagerty also expressed his concern for those affected by the fires: "I feel so sorry; my heart goes out, my prayers go out, to the people in Southern California who are suffering."

The conversation shifted towards economic policies and Republican unity on Capitol Hill. Hagerty emphasized the party's focus on revitalizing America's energy sector and securing borders. "We want to see our economy take off again," he said, advocating for a corporate tax rate that would encourage investment and growth similar to past successes under previous tax reforms.

Hagerty concluded with optimism about working alongside colleagues and President Trump: "I’m looking forward to working with…all of my colleagues here, and President Trump to make certain that happens as quickly as possible."
