WASHINGTON—The personal stories of American citizens reflect the impact of President Trump’s first 100 days in office. The featured stories include individuals from Tennessee’s 7th congressional district.
Following his inauguration on January 20th, President Trump has aimed to address multiple issues including border security, inflation reduction, and strengthening America’s position globally. Citizens from various backgrounds shared experiences that highlight these efforts.
Sheriff Chris Davis, serving in Tennessee’s Humphreys County for almost 20 years, values the administration’s focus on law enforcement. Recognizing the severe drug challenges in the state, Davis supports President Trump’s attempt to overturn the previous administration’s border policies. “Sheriff Davis is grateful for President Trump’s work to reverse President Biden’s open-border policies and secure American communities.”
Agriculture is another sector discussed in the narratives. Shane Keatts, a steward of a family farm and President of the Stewart County Farm Bureau, advocates for certain Trump-era policies. “Today, he proudly supports President Trump’s executive orders on energy, believing they will boost demand for American-grown corn, and other ethanol-based commodities while helping lower the input costs of crop production.”
Steve Hargrove, managing two farms in Tennessee, shares concerns about governmental control over agricultural lands under former federal regulations. He notes, “Under President Trump, Steve can rest easy knowing the government is on his side regarding WOTUS.” This reflects the administration’s position on the Waters of the United States (WOTUS) standards.
The stories contribute to a broader narrative of how residents perceive federal policies and their influence on daily life.
