Tennessee State men’s basketball announced on May 7 the signing of guard Daniel Vieira-Tuck, who joins the team after playing at Texas A&M-Texarkana, Overtime Elite, and professionally in Portugal. Head coach Nolan Smith said that Vieira-Tuck brings experience from multiple levels of competition.

Vieira-Tuck is a 6-foot-4 guard from Arlington, Texas. He originally signed with Memphis before deciding to play for Overtime Elite. He was later expected to return to Memphis but transferred to Texas A&M-Texarkana during the season.

During the 2025-26 season at Texas A&M-Texarkana, Vieira-Tuck appeared in seven games with six starts. He averaged 13.4 points, 4.1 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.4 steals per game while shooting nearly forty percent from the field and scoring in double figures five times.

Some of his top performances included scoring 20 points against LSU Shreveport and posting double-digit points against teams such as LSU Alexandria and UNT Dallas. Before joining Texas A&M-Texarkana, he played part of the previous season with Overtime Elite’s Diamond Doves where he contributed both offensively and defensively over limited minutes.

Vieira-Tuck also has professional experience overseas with S.L. Benfica in Portugal and represented Portugal at the FIBA U20 European Championship in 2023 where he posted strong numbers on both ends of the court.

The addition of Vieira-Tuck gives Tennessee State another versatile option as they prepare for upcoming competitions.
