The Tennessee State men’s basketball team is preparing to host Lindenwood on Thursday in a game with significant implications for the Ohio Valley Conference tournament. The Tigers, currently holding a 17-9 overall record and an 11-5 mark in conference play, will face the Lions at Gentry Center in Nashville at 7:30 PM. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+.

Tennessee State leads the all-time series against Lindenwood 7-1. In their previous matchup, Travis Harper II scored 30 points, Aaron Nkrumah contributed 22 points and six rebounds, and Dante Harris also surpassed the 20-point mark to help secure a victory.

Reflecting on recent performances, Tennessee State split its latest road trip by defeating Southern Indiana late before falling to Morehead State. Against Morehead State, several key statistics highlighted TSU’s effort: the team recorded five blocks to limit inside scoring opportunities and collected six steals that led directly to transition plays. The Tigers made nine three-pointers and forced 11 turnovers through defensive pressure.

Bench players added 14 points for TSU during reserve minutes. Dante Harris handled primary point guard responsibilities while scoring 16 points. The Tigers earned 18 free throw attempts by attacking both off the dribble and in post situations.

Travis Harper II contributed an additional 19 points from the wing and in late-clock scenarios, while Aaron Nkrumah tallied a team-high of 24 points with baskets coming from both inside the paint and mid-range areas. Tennessee State capitalized on turnovers by converting them into 22 points and assisted on 26 made field goals, indicating effective ball movement within their half-court offense. The team finished with a total of 42 points scored in the paint.

Lindenwood comes into Thursday’s contest after defeating UT Martin but dropping a close game to Southeast Missouri last Saturday.
