The Tennessee State track and field program will compete in the Ohio Valley Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships from May 14 to 16 at the Coleman Sports Complex on the campus of University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

This event marks a significant postseason opportunity for Tennessee State, as it is the first time Little Rock has hosted the OVC Outdoor Championships since joining the league before the 2022–23 academic year. The Tigers enter the meet following strong performances at both the Georgia Tech Invitational and Nashville’s Music City Challenge, which have positioned them to compete across multiple event groups.

In recent competitions, Tennessee State athletes have shown depth in sprints, hurdles, distance races, relays, and field events. On the men’s side, Kylen Thorps leads in hurdles with a time of 54.16 seconds in the 400-meter hurdles. Joshua McClendon posted a strong performance in the 400 meters with a time of 48.08 seconds, while Devin Jones led middle-distance runners with a mark of 1:50.23 in the 800 meters. Other contributors include Robert Hooper, Delton White, Aaron Davis (middle distance), Caleb Joshway (21.23 seconds in the 200 meters), Jayden Guy (sprints), Christian White (6.74 meters long jump), Kolby Jones (14.14 meters triple jump), and Gabriel Deng (triple jump). The men’s “A” squad—Devin Jones, Caleb Joshway, Kylen Thorps, and Joshua McClendon—recorded a notable time of 3:14.37 late in regular season competition for their relay team.

On the women’s side, Serenity Harry leads sprinters after running a season-best of 24.71 seconds in the 200 meters; Kaymin Sales contributed marks including a season-best of 58.77 seconds over 400 meters; Sydney McGee and Haley Blades provide additional points potential for middle-distance events; Carolyn McRee leads shot put competitors with her mark of 12.27 meters; Ayana Pugh and Kaylin White contribute to long jump efforts—with White reaching up to 5.90 meters—and Emmani Roberts represents TSU’s triple jumpers.

Last season saw Southeast Missouri State Redhawks win both men’s and women’s conference championships—the women’s program capturing its third consecutive title while men claimed their first since 2023.

The three-day championship includes preliminary rounds as well as finals for field events and culminates Saturday evening with championship races. Fans can follow live results throughout each day along with streaming coverage provided by official conference channels.
