Three members of the Lipscomb University Women’s Tennis team were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, according to a May 12 announcement from the university.

The recognition was given to Deborah Dominguez Collado, Sofiia Paladi, and Sofiia Zhylchuk. All three athletes had previously been selected for the Atlantic Sun Conference All-Academic Team in April.

The College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Teams highlight student-athletes who excel both academically and athletically. To be eligible for this honor, nominees must have at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average and participate in at least 75% of dual matches during the season.

Dominguez Collado, a junior from Guatemala City, received her first Academic All-District honor after posting an 8-7 singles record and going 15-2 in doubles play with partner Paladi during the spring season. The pair went undefeated (11-0) after moving to No. 2 doubles flight late in February.

Paladi, a senior from Odessa, Ukraine, earned her third consecutive Academic All-District selection. She finished her collegiate career with more than 150 wins across singles and doubles competitions and achieved a 13-6 record at No.1 singles this spring while also securing an All-ASUN First Team award for the third year running.

Zhylchuk, a junior from Rivne, Ukraine, received her first career Academic All-District honor this year. Competing primarily at No.6 singles for Lipscomb, she posted a spring record of 12-6 and ended regular season play on a seven-match winning streak.
