Trustee Erica S. Gilmore announced today a new partnership between the Office of The Metropolitan Trustee and Music for Seniors. The 501(c)3, launched in 2007, is dedicated to “promoting health and well-being, reducing isolation and enriching the lives of all participants,” through ” music programs designed to engage, entertain and educate.” The teams will be joining forces on June 21st, 1:00pm at Plaza Mariachi for a daytime concert with Allison Brazil and the Roots of Rhythm. This partnerships aims to provide education, resources and assistance on Metro Nashville’s Tax Freeze & Relief initiatives to the area’s older adult population. The Trustee and dedicated Tax Relief Specialist from the office will be present at the event to answer any questions and assist. Tickets for the concert can be found on linktr.ee/nashtrustee, linktr.ee/lightinguplives and Eventbrite.

“We believe that this collaboration will greatly benefit older adults in our community by providing them with valuable resources and assistance related to our Tax Relief and Tax Freeze program,” says Trustee Gilmore.

Created in 2009, Music for Seniors FREE Daytime Concert Series offers older adults opportunities to attend concerts during the day to reduce “challenges faced by many older adults often prohibited attending nighttime concerts.”

Tennessee’s Tax Freeze program administered by the Metropolitan Trustee’s office offers significant benefits to older adults in our community. In May, Metro Council passed an amendment that will increase the Tax Freeze income limit for the year 2024 to $60,000 (2023 is set at $47,450). If you have any questions or require further information, please do not hesitate to contact the Office of the Metropolitan Trustee at 615-862-6330 or go online to create an appointment at nashville.gov/trustee
